Meet the Maker

Greetings and thank you for joining me on the adventure I am undertaking. I have been gifting and donating my artisan attire for some time now, honing my craft, and dreaming of reaching more people with my good energy colors. I am a semi-retired school teacher, living in a tiny town in Oregon with my dog Pete, and finding new passions in life. I fell in love with the art of dying, learning everything I can through experience and collaboration, about this very deep and complex art. How different colors react to different fabrics, how temperature and time play in, what colors like each other and how they travel and fasten when applied, so many fascinating elements I never would have IMAGINED.

How it’s Made

WIth a passion, communication with the customer via email, sketches, phone conversations, begins as they convey to me an idea, an image, a vision.. The apron is first tyed with the foundational shapes and dye is applied. After studying the dyed apron, looking for subtle images I begin bringing them to life with the help of acrylic paint, preserving the integrity of the dye process while complimenting the texture and essence of the implied goal.
